Here is the latest from the WAVE BLASTERS of FLORIDA

Bright and sunny with temps in the high 80s and a good breeze. Pond level is getting quite low again as a result of no rain. Must be down two feet from the high we had a couple months ago. Still good boating and the ducks loved it too. (Until Mackey’s RC duck went after them.)

Club News – A big welcome to the Pirates Flag Modeler’s Club of Fernandina Beach, Florida. We got a great letter, newsletter, roster and some great photos of their Fun Sail Regatta held on Amelia Island. Be sure and check out the Gallery – Scale – Pirates Flag Regatta on this web site for the regatta photos. Also, check the news at -
Pirate’s Flag in the News

Great hearing from them and hopefully we can get a Fun Sail Regatta joint event in the Fall.

Fast Electric News – Good turnout for racing today. A couple key points that Mike Martin brought out in the driver’s meeting today.

1) After reviewing the schedule for the balance of this racing session, we will stay with the published schedule posted on the LINKS page of this web site.

2) Driver’s Meetings will begin promptly at 10:50 AM on race days with the first race at 11:00 AM sharp. Folks have been arriving late so many times we are not getting started until 11:30 AM. As we add more racing events, this must be adhered to so that it doesn’t become an all day event.

SPECIAL NOTE - Mike Martin and Ken Haines will be attending this years NAMBA FE Nationals in Sacramento, California. The event will take place the week of June 19-22. Good luck guys! We’ll be cheering for you for sure.

Thanks to Bob Schoonover, we have lots of great racing photos this week. Bob is going to help us out with the web site photos and we will attempt to get more information on the contents of each photo for captions. Really appreciate it Bob and your photos are great! Scale/Sail News – WOW what a turnout again today for the Scale boaters. Fifteen boats on the water at one time and only 1 channel conflict. (Ooops!) No damage though. The Schnellboot squadron was out today. Randy had his new vessel and a WIP Lobster Boat was there for some building advice from the Master Builders. :o)) Always enjoy the input.

FE1FE2

Bill Bornemann, after his Mr. Darby went down a few weeks back, decided to install an automatic bilge pump on his tug and he did a great job with the installation. The pump he used is a universal windshield washer pump from JC Whitney Auto Supply. The pump and electronics totaled under $15. He advised that he ran it for an extended period and no problem with the transistor heating up or the system shutting down. It worked great and he is installing on all his larger boats. (For the electronics and switch instructions, visit the WB Forum, Tech Chat, Automatic Bilge Pumps.) Great looking installation Bill. Thanks for the input.
